Facts About Kiwifruit

Kiwifruit are one of the healthiest fruit on the planet. They have more Vitamin C than oranges, more Folic Acid than Strawberries, and more Potassium than Bananas. A single Kiwifruit is loaded with vitamins A & E, and offers more Fibre than an entire cup of bran, while also being rich with Antioxidants (Lutein, Zeaxanthine and Carotene) and plenty of beneficial Enzymes that our bodies thrive on.

For quicker ripening kiwi fruit can be placed in a paper bag along with a banana or apple for a few days. The kiwi skin is edible and also rich with nutrients and fibre. Having in mind that the plants in our vineyard are pesticide-free, our fruit can be eaten with the skin-on, which gives the fruit a more intensive and unique flavor. Kiwifruit can be consumed on their own, and are also perfect for making smoothies, home made juices, jams, syrups, and jellies.

  1. Port Coquitlam. I have a massive kiwi 15-20′ tall in my backyard with 1,000’s of non perishable fruit that could be picked for the food bank. I am a senior that has recently become a widow with the complication of recovering from a stroke, I am unable to climb a ladder to harvest this crop.
